The Best Christmas Cookie Recipe~Christmas Crackle

Sugar Buzz calls this recipe Christmas Crackle, to be less controversial than the original name. Some use Sweet and Saltines, Saltine Cracker Toffee or even Cracker Candy. This recipe is sooooo easy and sooooo good, call it by any name you choose. One taste and you’ll want this to be an “every day that ends in Y” treat, not just a Christmas time recipe. You probably have all of the ingredients in your pantry!
Ten minutes prep time, a speedy five minutes to bake, one hour to chill and you’ll have a seriously amazing treat for Christmas day! Put this on your must make list!
What you’ll need:
40 saltines (one sleeve)
1 cup butter
10 oz. bag +/- semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup brown sugar packed
Preheat oven to 400. Line a cookie sheet with foil and spray well with cooking spray. Layer the cookie sheet with saltines. On the stovetop, heat the butter and sugar to a low boil, about 3-5 minutes, stir often. Eyes on the prize, don’t allow to burn. Pour this mixture over the crackers and cover evenly. Bake for 3-5 minutes, remove from the oven and sprinkle/spread chocolate chips over the brown sugar mixture. Chill for an hour and break into pieces. Free form and yummy!
